Tatonka/Trangia

On PathLessPedaled.com, I post about our cookware for our trip. We’re about 95% sure that is what we’re going to bring. We have to play with the packing to see if we’re going to take anything out.
As I mention in the post, I acquired a Tatonka alcohol stove cook kit. It is nearly identical to the Trangia version, but the stove itself is a little larger and has a silver finish (as oppose to brass). From what I gather, it is a Trangia clone made in Germany perhaps? Functionally it’s the same with some minor differences in size.
We’ve decided to bring the big windscreen and pot base for it, just because we do plan to cook a fair deal. It’s heavy and a little bulky, but it’s a nice sturdy base that is strong enough to adequately hold our paella pan. I probably wouldn’t take it on an S24O or short tour, but for a long extended tour it seems somehow more acceptable.
Apologies for all the camera-related posts lately, if you’re not into cameras. I’m just really excited by the new offerings by Olympus and Panasonic right now. They’re innovating where Canon and Nikon seem to be just making more of the same.
