Lumix LX3 Photo Gallery

Right before I left for my most recent trip, I alluded to the fact that I was going to get an LX3 to review. Right at the 11th hour (7pm the night before we were leaving), the UPS man showed up with a package. I didn’t have time to get too acquainted with the camera (9 hours before we were to leave), so I just charged up the battery and tossed the camera in my handlebar bag. Here’s a gallery of the images from the LX3 from our trip. I am fairly impressed with the camera and I’ll write a lengthier review of the camera in another post.
For now, enjoy the images!

Very nice, Russ! I’m looking forward to the full review. Hoping you’ll make some comparisons to your G10..
Best,
Alan
Wow, love the color saturation. Is that the way the camera shot it or did you enhance it post? Look forward to the review. Per your review I recommended the Canon G10 to my wife and she loves it. But I think I want this one.
Are these images straight from the camera? It’d be pretty cool if the vignetting came from the lens!
I did some post to the images as I do with the pics that come out of my D300. I’ve found that every digital camera I’ve used requires at least SOME post. Nothing, in my experience, looks perfect out of the box, so to speak, though having good light helps immensely.
For post, I use Lightroom. I haven’t opened up Photoshop in a few months! I fiddle with the contrast and saturation a little (mostly using presets) and add a vignette to center the image. I believe the LX3 actually does this as well, the vignetting that is, but I haven’t used it. It’s something I use to do when I printed BW fiber prints, it sorta closes of the sides and contains the image. YMMV.
I’ll compare it to my experiences with the G10 since they seem to be real close competitors.
In case you didn’t see this:

Ooops…seems the new firmware will be available starting June 1 at that link.
Beautifu photos. I’m looking forward to following the ‘big trip’.
Inspiring!
Thanks
